The Soundtrack

  • Velocity Girl

Formed in 1989 in College Park, Maryland, they were an American indie rock band active in the Washington, D.C., area. The band released three albums before splitting up in 1996. Their debut album “Copacetic” has been remixed and is part of a flurry of activity for Velocity Girl. At the time of its release in 1993, “Copacetic” was a resounding popular success. It became Sub Pop’s second-best-selling album, trailing only the debut of a band called Nirvana. The record’s style — indebted to the smeary, dreamy British sound that had recently been dubbed “shoegaze” — significantly tempered Sub Pop’s reputation as a purveyor of grunge only.

  • Letitia Vansant

Letitia is native of Towson who is actively involved in making her community a better place to live. We first heard her on the local indie station WTMD and agree with Paste Magazine, that she is one of 10 Country Artists to Watch in 2020
Letitia VanSant’s lyrics are as personal as they are political, tracing questions of power into the human heart. With sparse indie folk arrangements fortifying a distinctly intimate vocal style, her stage presence is down-to-earth and immediate.

VanSant’s debut album Gut It to the Studs established her as an emerging talent on the Americana scene and propelled her on her first UK/European tour. Its follow-up Circadian was released February 21, 2020.

  • Peach Face

If you were to put together an all-star roster of next-generation Baltimore musicians, Peach Face would be in the starting lineup. The musical project of 24-year-old Towson grad Alison Ramírez is a gauzy, indie-pop daydream, marked by lush, synth-fueled songs of love, loss, and identity, such as her cell phone-recorded first single, “Grilled Cheese,” which has over 2.5 million streams on Spotify. Her debut full-length album, Grocery Store Flowers, is out now.

We have been fans of Robyn Bingham since she first sang in Ernie Fowler’s Monday Open Mic night. She joined forces with the Hollowed Sky in March of 2023. Bridging the gap between alternative-rock and metal since 2016 they are based near Annapolis, Maryland.
